Appeal to my friends
Hi,
We are seeing recurring incidences of crime against women,
all over India. Many of us protest over social network, and blame the police,
the ministers in as ferocious language as one can. Many protest on the roads. Media
covers it and uses it to increase their TRP. Politicians use this in their own ways.
This lasts for about a month and people move on to another NEWS.
During the protests, what we ask for is suppressive
measures. But suppression breeds criminal mindset. Hanging criminals or killing
them publicly, resignation of politicians or commissioners will not stop future
crimes.
What will stop the crime is, people’s movement. Facebook has
more than 70 million active users in India. We can create a chain of education,
instead of chain of condemnation. We can use Facebook in a much better way.
And let’s not restrict it to only a net-activity, go out in
the world around us and make an impact. Grow your network and ‘net’-worth.
Let’s assume, no government will help us, no police will
help us. But we definitely outnumber them, we can help ourselves and our
friends.
Please feel free to add your views and repost.
Thank you,
Kaustubh
